365 Project: (Not) Day 80

Yesterday, after almost three months of photographing the sky every day, it finally happened. The moment I had been dreading.

I FORGOT... :(

This is NOT the sky on the 22nd of March, day 80 of my 365 Project. It is day 79... 

But hey, I guess it was bound to happen one day... And I guess I could've just uploaded a random sky picture and call it 'day 80', but that wouldn't be fair would it? I'd rather have no picture at all than a fake one ;)

So yeah. Day 79. Not 80. 

Day 81, here I come! :)

Let's Go For A Ride!

After a few months of contemplating, I finally decided to buy myself a new bicycle. I've been driving around on third-hand, crooked bikes-from-hell for years, and it doesn't exactly motivate me to go for a ride. At all. Which is a bit unfortunate, considering I don't own a car and Holland is perfect for cycling... 

So yeah, I bought myself a beautiful, brand new bike, and yesterday I took it for a little spin! :) It was very chilly (around 5°C!) and a vicious wind was blowing across our little corner of the world. 

On the bright side: it was very quiet and peaceful in The Wild, which is just the way I like it ;)

Look at those skies! Hard to believe it's March isn't it? Felt more like January...

And one last action shot! I know I shouldn't photograph while riding my bike, but I just couldn't resist... ;)

Operation Clean Sweep: The Closet Edition

To make sure I'm properly prepared for Spring, I finally forced myself to clean out my closet last weekend. It was getting a bit crowded in there, so I kind of felt I needed to throw stuff away. But after going through it all, ironing a whole bunch of stuff, and neatly hanging everything, my closet actually ended up more crowded than before... :S

I have collected all these great dresses over the years, and it just doesn't make sense to me to throw stuff away because I'm out of hangers! So… look at all my pretty dresses!!! :D

So yeah. I'm ready for Spring. Now bring it on already!! ;)

The First Signs of Spring

Don't you just love it when one day the air suddenly smells like spring? When your whole garden is all of a sudden covered in crocuses? When you wake up to sunshine and the chirping of birds?

I sure do!!! :)

Winter hasn't completely left us yet, but for the past few days SPRING was here! :) I enjoyed the crispy air, the sunshine that so desperately wanted to be warm and the long awaited burst of color brought by these pretty little flowers. 

Aren't they gorgeous?! They really brighten up my little world :) 

So even though the weather forecast predicts low temperatures for next week, I'm not too worried. Because spring really is almost here!! :)

365 Project: Best of February

February, the month in which there were signs of winter and signs of spring, and in which I was either under the weather or trying to catch up with things...

Under the weather

Oh my!! I had the worst case of the flu last week and was forced to stay in bed for seven whole days. SEVEN!! I think it was a new personal record ;) I am flu-ish quite often but I'm always back on my feet within a day or three. But this time it just didn't seem to end and on day six I was going completely mental from consistently feeling so horrible. But hey, all is well again! Or, well-ish at least...

Work has been piling up and ahead lies a busy weekend filled with shopping, food and friends. The problem is that I'm so tired even the fun stuff feels a bit like a burden, and all I want is a blue sky, sunshine, my bike and a picknick basket...

But alas! Spring isn't here yet and these are busy times, so I'll just have to go with the flow, and hope for sunshine in my near future. And since it's already March, I'm hoping I won't have to wait very much longer ;)
